The house

The name comes from the ceiling

The building dates from the 1600s and stands in the old town of Putignano, a few metres from the limited traffic zone. ArchiArcaici takes up its lower ground floor: 45 m², completely renovated without touching the two things that matter, the stone walls and the arched ceiling.

The front door opens straight into the living room and kitchen, with the bedroom right next to it. You get the whole place: nothing to share with other guests.

The area

In the town of the Carnival

Putignano is known for its Carnival, one of the oldest in Europe. The house is in the old town, among the old churches and streets.

All around, olive, almond and cherry groves enclosed by dry-stone walls. From here you can tour the Itria Valley, with Alberobello, Locorotondo and Martina Franca; go down into the Castellana Caves; or head for the sea at Polignano a Mare and Monopoli, on the green-blue waters of the Adriatic.
